J-POP IDOLS MEET A HORROR LEGEND IN SANA & SANA: LET ME HEAR

Out on:Download 27th Oct. 2025
VOD 27th Oct. 2025

Listen up! In a year dominated by pop stars grappling with the supernatural, the J-Pop group GENERATIONS from EXILE TRIBE star as fictionalised versions of themselves in SANA, a suspenseful new J-horror from legendary director Takashi Shimizu (Ju-On: The Grudge). It’s time to listen to SANA and its sequel SANA: LET ME HEAR, starring former NMB48 member Nagisa Shibuya in her feature film debut, when the J-Horror double bill releases on Digital and streaming exclusively on ARROW from October 27th. A Blu-ray boxset will be released in 2026.

Over two decades since he terrified the world with Toshio and Kayako, Shimizu delivers a genuinely chilling reminder of why he’s one of the defining voices of J-Horror. SANA and SANA: Let Me Hear remix the genre’s celebrated hallmarks in a way that wouldn’t feel out of place in a playlist of the classics, while also exciting new audiences. You won’t get them out of your head!

SANA (ミンナのウタ)

Starring J-Pop supergroup 'Generations from Exile Tribe' playing fictionalised versions of themselves, Sana sees the bandmembers discover a mysterious cassette tape containing only a simple melody. But this earworm comes with sinister consequences, as anyone who hears the tune becomes compelled to constantly hum it and finds themselves plagued with horrifying ghostly visions. The band, their manager and a world-weary detective must team up to uncover the mystery behind the tape and save themselves from falling under its malignant spell.

SANA: LET ME HEAR (あのコはだぁれ?)

A group of high school students are taking extra classes during the summer holidays when one of them suddenly jumps off the school roof in a grim reminder of a similar incident that happened at the same school 30 years prior. Substitute teacher Honoka discovers that both events revolve around an elusive girl named Sana, and the chilling secret behind the cassette tape she recorded.
